Accountant
A career is an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life with opportunities for progress. Careers are part of everyone’s daily lives. Whether your a doctor or a farmer, that is what you always wanted to do. I have changed my mind many times, but I have decided I would like to become an accountant or something associated with that.
An accountant is a person whose job is to keep or inspect financial accounts. An accountant might compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, suggest ways to reduce cost, and improve profits in businesses. An accountant might also include the job of an auditor, which is still basically the same job as an accountant.
Many accountants work in offices or they might work at home. Auditors may travel to their clients‘ place. Most accountants and auditors work forty or more hours in a week. Sometimes they may work longer because if the need of them increases during some parts of the year. Currently there are one million, two hundred sixteen thousand, and nine hundred accountants and auditors in the United States.
Accountant and auditors have to have good schooling to become the best they want to be. In order to become an accountant or auditor, someone would have to go to a college and receive a bachelor’s degree in that field or related field. If someone would like to improve the job conditions and pay, they could be certified as a CPA, which is a Certified Public Accountants.
Every career has room for advancement. If someone becomes a public accountant, it would advance to more opportunities in the work field. If someone excelled in that position may become supervisors, managers, or partners, open their own public accounting firm, or transfer to executive positions in management accounting or internal auditing in private firms earning a bigger salary.
Throughout the career of being an accountant they will earn a variety amount of money. When someone first starts out, they will except to earn about sixty-one thousand and six hundred ninety dollars. But, the fall down of that is to earn at least thirty-eight thousand and nine hundred forty dollars. While moving up the ladder throughout the career as an accountant or auditor, someone could earn up to one hundred six hundred thousand and eight hundred eighty dollars.
The future prospects of the this position is to expected to grow about sixteen percent from 2010 to 2020. The reason for this is because there has been a response to corporate scandals and recent financial crises. Laws and regulations will most likely need more accounting services. Since businesses have been growing more and more, the demand for accountants and auditors will be increased.
An accountant holds many opportunities that I would like to have and build on throughout my life. Whether I make tons of money or not, I know I will be happy I chose this occupation for my life.
